Searle & Son is a traditional signwriting studio based in Portsmouth, working nationwide on bespoke hand-painted signage and decorative lettering for distinctive buildings and established brands.
A father-and-son studio, we bring together generations of experience with a disciplined respect for craftsmanship, proportion and architectural integrity. Every commission is produced using traditional methods and designed to stand the test of time.

Gilding and Restoration
Searle & Son provide gilding and restoration services for a wide range of objects, including honours boards, ironwork, heirlooms and historic artefacts. Past projects have included work on nationally significant items, including HMS Trincomalee.
Restoration work is carried out with sensitivity to original materials and methods, ensuring the integrity and history of each piece is respected.
